A Petaluma resident for more than 30 years, Shirley Tutt had a heart for helping those in need. She was an active volunteer for the Christmas Cheer program, an organization providing food and toys to needy families in Petaluma during the holidays.

Ms. Tutt died on Feb. 18, 2013 at the age of 80.
Born in San Francisco, Ms. Tutt spent her childhood on the family ranch near Dixon.
She attended San Jose State College and graduated from San Francisco State College. She worked in Sacramento for the State of California and later in San Francisco as an analyst for the California Department of Industrial Relations. She was predeceased by her brother John Samuel Tutt. No public services are planned.
