The Oakland Raiders have cut ties with two former first-round picks by releasing starting receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey and defensive back Michael Huff.
The Raiders also cut defensive end Dave Tollefson and re-signed cornerback Phillip Adams to a one-year deal before the start of the league year on Tuesday.
The moves to get rid of Heyward-Bey and Huff leave just three of Oakland's former first-round picks on the roster with linebacker Rolando McClain also expected to be released this offseason. While Heyward-Bey has been mostly a disappointment in his career, the move to get rid of Huff comes as some surprise since he was the team's most consistent defensive back last season playing both cornerback and safety
