EDITOR: The picture accompanying Monday’s article about bicycling spoke 1,000 words (“Road rules weighed”). The pack of cyclists, some two or more across the road, was so dense that the vehicle trying to pass them had to move across double yellow lines to get by without hitting the cyclists. Granted the driver was in the wrong for going over the line, but what about the cyclists? Were they in a position to cause an accident — harm to themselves and the motorists? I am all for sharing the roads, but cyclists have to also take responsibility for obeying safety and legal rules of the road. Let us all take heed of the rules of common sense and common courtesy while traveling in our beautiful Sonoma County — on bike, in cars or walking.
