Film on Italian eco village

<p>Petaluma native Miguel Elliott of Living Earth Structures has recently returned from a community in Northern Italy called Damanhur, where he was working on building an earthen hut, which looks like something right out of “The Hobbit's” Shire. </p><p>Besides going there to build, he also went to learn more about this eco-village that serves as a model for its many sustainable living practices and innovative approaches towards spiritual development, cooperative living, art and science. </p><p>On Sunday, March 24, Elliott will give a screening of his film “Dreams of Damanhur,” which features the story behind Damanhur and its underground Temple of Humankind.</p><p>In addition, Elliott will share photos of his latest projects in natural building, including a dome in Africa, a house in Argentina, ovens around the counties, benches in jail farms, projects in schools, and work at the retreat center Isis Oasis. </p><p>Elliott is hoping to educate the public on the possibilities of building with the Earth as a way of helping to build community.</p><p>The program begins at 7 p.m. at Aqus Café Foundry Wharf, 189 H St. Admission is free.
