<p><b>Roads for all users</b></p><p>EDITOR: I must respond to Ray Capone (“Unsafe for cyclists,” Letters, Thursday). The roadways are public domain, paid for by all of us.</p><p>The majority of cyclists own cars, have jobs and pay taxes. Cyclists have a codified right to use any road, regardless of shoulder or road configuration (even freeways are allowed if no other route is available). All road users have the obligation to know and follow the rules of the road.</p><p>The real problems of bike/car interface occur when the Vehicle Code is not obeyed. This applies to cyclists and drivers. The best way to make the roads safe for all users is to give full attention to the task at hand while riding or driving.</p><p>GARY JONES</p><p>Guerneville</p>
