A 125-acre wildfire in the Knights Valley area northwest of Calistoga was 80 percent contained on Thursday evening with no property damage or injuries reported, Cal Fire said.

The Yellow Fire, which broke out Wednesday off Highway 128 near Yellow Jacket Ranch Road, was expected to be fully contained by noon Friday.

Cal Fire said the remaining fire activity was in steep terrain and “heavy fuels,” and will likely continue emitting smoke for several days.

Mop-up and repair of firefighting damage began Thursday.

Ten fire engines, six fire crews, a bulldozer, helicopter and 145 personnel were committed to the fire, Cal Fire said.
