Klick named Outstanding Young Farmer
Tyler Klick, who stomped his first grapes at his family’s Lake County vineyard when he was just six years old, has been given the 2013 Outstanding Young Farmer Award by the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
After studying viticulture and enology at UC Davis, and completing an internship at Kendall-Jackson Winery, Klick went to work full-time for Redwood Empire Vineyard Management in 2000. He worked his way up to viticulturalist and then became a co-owner in 2006.
Now, Klick oversees all traditional and specialty viticulture for REVM and is involved in creek restoration projects.
“Sonoma County is a special place to live and visit,” Tyler said in a statement. “Agriculture is an important part of the fabric that makes Sonoma County unique. I feel fortunate to have found my passion in viticulture and have a diverse area to work in.”
