Limantour Road in Point Reyes National Seashore will be closed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in October starting Monday, the National Park Service announced.
The road links the park’s main visitor center at Olema with the popular Limantour Beach and Point Reyes Hostel.
Traffic will be open all day on weekends and overnight weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Construction crews will restore the road to two lanes of traffic and improve access to the area that sees 150,000 visitors per year.
On New Year’s Day, a 48-inch culvert under the road near Bear Valley Road failed, causing a section of roadway to collapse. The road was stabilized and one lane was opened to traffic.
The work will replace the culvert and protect the drainage, park officials said.
