A Clearlake man remained hospitalized Monday after he was shot in the chest over the weekend during a marijuana robbery at his home.
Officers still need to interview the 45-year-old man to learn more about what happened, Clearlake police Sgt. Nick Bennett said.
Four masked men went to the victim’s Mullen Street home between 3 and 4 a.m. Saturday. The victim, who had been sleeping out by his marijuana plants, heard the men arriving and was shot during a confrontation, Bennett said. An unknown amount of marijuana was stolen.
A neighbor heard the wounded man calling out for help at about 7 a.m. and police found him inside his home. He’d lost a substantial amount of blood from the bullet wound and was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Officers know the robbers spoke English and Spanish, but otherwise have little information, said Bennett. He asked anyone with information to contact Detective Ryan Peterson at 994-8251, ext. 320.
