Pedestrians struck, injured in downtown Santa Rosa

A vehicle struck and injured two, possibly three, pedestrians at the corner of Fourth and E streets in Santa Rosa on Monday afternoon.

Details of how the accident occurred and the extent of the victims' injuries were not immediately available.

Santa Rosa police and medics collected blood-soaked clothing and belongings from the crosswalk after loading the victims into the ambulance, leaving several puddles of blood on the pavement.

Traffic in the area was partial blocked during the investigation.

The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling southbound on E Street at the time.
