A father and son were stabbed in west Santa Rosa on Saturday night and were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, Santa Rosa Police Sgt. John Cregan said.
The incident was reported around 7:45 p.m.
“I was out with my dogs, and I heard screaming and everyone started running,” said Eliazar Gonsales, 20, who was waiting to get back home with his two poodles.
Cregan said a sureño gang member who lived in the Puerto Villa apartment complex on Rockwell Place may have committed the crime.
Officers Saturday night followed a blood trail into that apartment complex as residents huddled in groups outside and Christmas lights twinkled through a window.
“We have no idea if it’s a victim or a suspect” at the end of the trail, Cregan said. “We’ve definitely seen a lot of gang activity.”
The father had multiple stab wounds, and the son, a juvenile, had a stab wound to the neck, Cregan said. The names of the victims were not released.
