The Petaluma man who died Thursday when he flipped his sports car has been identified by the county coroner as 60-year-old Thomas Jeffrey Hauth.
The deadly crash happened late Thursday morning on D Street, east of San Antonio Road outside Petaluma. Hauth was attempting to pass another vehicle in his 2003 Shelby Cobra replica when he lost control, running off the road and flipping end-over-end, the CHP said.
The car’s speed at the time is unknown, though the CHP said Hauth had been attempting to pass in a no-passing zone. His car came to rest upside-down, blocking the roadway.
Emergency crews found Hauth dead inside.
