Groups to hold sustainable growing event on Aug. 8
A consortium of Sonoma County groups will hold their Sustainable Winegrowing Field Day on Aug. 8 at Santa Rosa Junior College’s Shone Farm at 7450 Steve Olson Lane in Forestville.
The Sonoma County Winegrowers, the SRJC Ag and Natural Resources Department and Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation are sponsoring the event, which will feature presentations on issues such as pesticides, endangered species, human resource management and other areas.

Consumer Wine Sale Symposium scheduled for January in Concord
The Direct to Consumer Wine Symposium, a wine industry summit on direct marketing and sales, will be held Jan. 14 and 15 at the Hilton Concord Hotel in Concord.
Workshops include sessions on mobile electronic commerce, best customer retention practices, working with local tourism agencies and improving tasting room sales.
Registration costs $95 for Jan. 14 and $365 for Jan. 15 and is available at www.dtcwinesymposium.com.
Pulido-Walker names Daniel Ha new estate ambassador
Pulido-Walker has named Daniel Ha as its estate ambassador as the Napa-based winery looks to expand its operations.
Ha has previously worked in sales and marketing for Napa Valley wineries such as Vineyard 29 and Dana Estates, before starting his consultancy business, DMH Napa Valley. Ha holds a bachelor’s degree of business administration from the University of Oklahoma.
The winery, owned by Mark Pulido and Donna Walker, focuses solely on 100-percent cabernet sauvignon brands.
