Ted Seghesio has been promoted to general manager and winemaker of Seghesio Family Vineyards.

Seghesio, who has been responsible for winemaking at his family vineyards for 32 years, will now oversee all daily winery and cellar operations.

Seghesio grew up on property next to his family’s Healdsburg winery and returned to work there after graduating from the University of Pacific in 1975. The winery introduced the first Seghesio wines in 1983 and is known for its zinfandels and its Italian varietals.

The Crimson Wine Group, a publicly traded Napa-based wine company, purchased Seghesio Family Vineyards in 2011. The Seghesio family history in Sonoma County dates back to 1886. Its vineyards are in Alexander and Dry Creek valleys.
