Sonoma County still one of hottest real estate markets in US

Sonoma County has slipped a few spots but remains among the top 10 of the nation’s hottest real estate markets, according to Realtor.com.|

Sonoma County slipped several spots in recent rankings but remains one of the 10 hottest real estate markets in the nation, according to Realtor.com.

The county in May ranked eighth in the nation, the online home listing service reported Monday. The rankings are based upon two factors: The number of views per listing on the company’s website and the median number of days the available homes have been on the market.

In March, Sonoma County placed fifth in the rankings.

Among the top seven communities, Denver ranked first, followed by San Francisco/Oakland, San Jose, Dallas, Vallejo/Fairfield, Boston and Santa Cruz.

Other high-ranking state communities were San Diego, 11th; Sacramento, 12th; Los Angeles, 15th; Oxnard/Ventura, 17th; and Stockton/Lodi, 20th.
