Ken and Diane Wilson have bought another boutique winery, with the Geyserville couple this time purchasing Greenwood Ridge Winery in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County.

Greenwood Ridge produces fewer than 1,500 cases annually, specializing in late-harvest riesling and pinot noir. The winery will be the 10th in the Wilson Artisan Wineries portfolio, most of which average between 3,000 to 5,000 cases annually, said Rob Izzo, director of sales and marketing. It also owns more than 600 acres of vineyards.

The tasting room and inventory only were included in the sale, not production facilities or vineyards, Izzo said. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Greenwood Ridge was established in 1980 by Allan Green, who focused on award-winning, small-lot wines.

“As a family-run operation, I am confident they will honor the legacy of Greenwood Ridge and our reputation for producing high-quality wines representative of Anderson Valley,” Green said in a statement.

The Wilsons received permission last year from Sonoma County to build a new, 25,000-case winery on a 40-acre vineyard four miles north of their flagship Wilson Winery on Dry Creek Road. They also own the Grape Leaf Inn and the Calderwood Inn in Healdsburg.
