Morton’s Warm Springs in Glen Ellen will open for the season on Saturday under new ownership.

The 19-acre property was bought late last year for $2 million by Well Within LLC, led by a Sebastopol couple, Sean Wadsworth and Laurie Hobbs. The seller was Stephen Compagni Ports of Sonoma.

Recreational visits to the property stretch back to the late 1800s, and the site boasted a full-fledged retreat by 1909, with a bathing pool, bathhouse and cottages.

The current facility features two natural mineral pools and a wading pool. The land also has picnic spots, beach volleyball courts and a baseball field. It can hold up to 2,000 visitors.

The site will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for weekends and holidays in May. Its hours from June to August will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. In September, it reverts back to its May schedule.
