Flanagan Wines completes purchase of Everett Ridge Winery

Owner Eric Flanagan will replant Dry Creek Valley property with cabernet sauvignon grapes.|

Eric Flanagan, owner of Flanagan Wines, has acquired Everett Ridge Winery in Dry Creek Valley through bankruptcy proceedings.

Flanagan bought the property after its previous owners, the Sterling family, relinquished their winery to Bank of the West. Court records showed Flanagan secured a $5.2 million loan for the deal.

The winery sits on 20 acres, with 10 acres of planted vineyards. The facility has a permit to produce 25,000 cases annually. Flanagan said he will replant the vineyard to cabernet sauvignon grapes with modern spacing and he plans other upgrades.

Last year, Flanagan was part of a group, Russian River Partners Investment Fund, that bought about a 32-acre vineyard near Occidental planted by former tech and wine executive Lew Platt.
