The Napa Valley Vintners organization has pledged $1 million over the next 10 years to support The Culinary Institute of America’s new Copia campus in Napa.

In return, the institute will name its wine tasting and culinary demonstration theater at Copia after the trade group.

The institute, which has a landmark Greystone campus in St. Helena, purchased the Napa building last year. Late Napa Valley vintners Robert and Margrit Mondavi largely funded construction of the facility, which opened in 2001 as a museum and educational center and closed in 2008. Copia will offer daily events this fall that will bring together chefs, educators and industry professionals for various programs.
