Phelps sells interest in Taken Wine to Trinchero

Napa vintner Josh Phelps has sold his interest in Taken Wine to Trinchero Family Estates in St. Helena, the company that produces the brand.

Trinchero, the fourth-largest wine company in the country, brought Taken into its portfolio of brands in 2013.

The brand was created by Phelps, son of winemaker Chris Phelps, and Carlo Trinchero, a third-generation member of his winemaking family.

Phelps said in a statement that he wants to start his own project, based in St. Helena, under the guidance of his father.
