REACH Air Medical Services announced Thursday it will open a new air ambulance base at the Napa County Airport in April.

The Santa Rosa-based company said the new site will offer air medical transport service on a round-the-clock basis to serve Napa County and surrounding areas.

The company has 43 air medical base locations in California, Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Texas and four ground ambulance bases.

“This base opening means a lot to me. I started my career in EMS (emergency medical services) within this region. I know first-hand how important it is to have an air ambulance resource like this available in the community,” said Sean Russell, president of REACH Medical Holdings, the parent company of REACH Air.
