Star Staffing of Petaluma announced Wednesday it has opened a new location in Lodi to better serve the needs of the region’s wine industry.

The new office will be the seventh location in northern California for the staffing agency, which recruits to fill jobs of all sorts. It is owned by Lisa Lichty and Nicole Smartt.

Star said it expects to hire from 300 to 500 positions, primarily in the beverage, agricultural and manufacturing industries, that will generate about $2.5 million in new sales during its first year in operation.

Letty Smith, who also oversees the Napa and Fairfield offices for Star, will supervise the Lodi office.
