Santa Rosa Metro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jonathan Coe announced Wednesday that he will step down from the business organization on Oct. 1.

Coe has led the chamber since 2009. He previously served 10 years as president and general manager of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce in Idaho.

Coe will work part time at the chamber through the end of the year, focusing on its Downtown Association program. Chief Operating Officer Debbie Gesualdo will serve as interim president until a replacement is named.

He helped push through creation of the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area, which included a 3 percent hotel tax that provides funding for tourism marketing efforts. Coe also led the campaign for reunifying Courthouse Square.
