Oliver's Market to match customer donations for Sonoma County fire victims

In addition to its initial, $10,000 outright contribution in response to the wildfires that continue to impact Sonoma County, local independent grocer Oliver's Market has now pledged to match customer contributions up to $25,000 to benefit the North Bay Fire Relief Fund (NBFRF).

To participate, customers can let their checker know what amount they'd like to contribute to NBFRF, and it will be added to their checkout total. Oliver's will match these donations dollar-for-dollar. To date, NBFRF has collected more than $3.5 million since being established last week by The Press Democrat, Redwood Credit Union and State Senator Mike McGuire.

One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to help victims of these devastating fires.

“Our thoughts are with our employees and members of our community who face devastating losses from these wildfires,” said Oliver's founder and president Steve Maass upon announcing the initiative.

“The North Bay Fire Relief Fund gives 100 percent of the contributions directly to victims to support both immediate and long-term needs. We're grateful for their efforts to support our community as we endure and rebuild from this tragedy. We will work toward our $60,000 goal initially, but depending on how things go, we may increase it.”
