Two Clearlake men died early Tuesday in a single-car crash between Lower Lake and Kelseyville, the Lake County CHP said.
Jarried Ray Meyer, 22, was driving southbound on Highway 29 just north of Red Hill Road at around 4:50 a.m. when his 2002 Infiniti drifted off the right side of the road, causing him to lose control, according to a news release issued by CHP spokesman Kory Reynolds.
The car then veered across both lanes of traffic and hit a tree. Emergency responders declared the driver and his passenger, Dallas Dalton Schell, 20, dead at the scene of the crash. The CHP did not know the speed of the car and was investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
