Learn how to de-bitter olives without lye during a workshop Sunday at B.R. Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen.
Olive expert Don Landis will talk about the history of olives, the many varieties available and how to cure the fruit the Greek way with brine, water or dry salt.
The demonstration will be followed by an olive tasting with cheese and crackers. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. $20. Workshop-goers are welcome to explore Cohn's 120-year-old olive orchard, and a discount will be offered for purchases in the market place and tasting room. Space is limited so an RSVP is necessary.
