Three young inmates ran away from the Sonoma County juvenile probation camp in Forestville Monday afternoon but were captured a few hours later.
The escapees, who were reported missing from the open-setting camp at about 2:30 p.m., were spotted by a retired law enforcement official who thought they looked suspicious as they headed toward the Windsor Town Green.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Henry 1 helicopter, which officials said was on another call, spotted them running. The three were captured by about 6:30 p.m.
