One person was killed Wednesday near Bodega after a car flipped onto its roof and burst into flames.

The crash was reported about 8 p.m. at Highway 1 and Bodega Highway.

A female driver was trapped inside, an emergency dispatcher said.

Multiple passers-by stopped to assist. A report on the CHP's incident website said people were throwing water on the burning car.

Firefighters arrived within minutes and extinguished the flames, the dispatcher said.
