Silverado Trail in Napa County will see rolling closures on Sunday as the Napa Valley Marathon proceeds southward from Calistoga to the city of Napa.

The race, the 38th annual, kicks off at 7 a.m., but the upper end of Silverado Trail will be closed starting at 5:30 a.m. The race will conclude at Vintage High School, with the last racers expected in no later than 1 p.m., according to organizers.

Runners will occupy both lanes of Silverado Trail from Calistoga to the turnoff of Highway 128 in Rutherford. Between Highway 128 and the Yountville Cross Road, runners will be confined to the southbound lane, according to the Napa County Public Works Department. Northbound traffic will be allowed to proceed under escort by the CHP.

South of Yountville, runners will again occupy both lanes, closing the road to traffic.
