Petaluma police warn of truck thefts

Two Ford pickups disappeared in Petaluma this week and police Friday issued a warning to drivers to be aware of the thefts.

Both trucks were F350 work trucks with utility boxes, stolen while parked in front of their owners' east Petaluma homes, Sgt. Ken Savano said in a release.

One, a white 1990 Ford truck, stolen Wednesday night or early Thursday later was found on the side of Adobe Road.

Tools and other equipment were gone from the utility boxes, Savano said.

Still missing is a bronze-colored, 2006 truck with "Critchfield Mechanical Inc." written on the side. It disappeared Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

Savano warned drivers of such vehicles to be alert and asked the public to watch for the missing bronze truck.

He asked anyone with information to call Officer Bill Baseman at (707)781-1210.
