Petaluma police looking for suspected drive-thru thief

Petaluma police are looking for a man who allegedly took a super-sized helping of cash from a McDonald's drive-thru at around 2 a.m. Monday morning.

The man apparently opened the drive-thru window, at the McDonald's in the Gateway Plaza shopping center on Lakeville Street, while employees were away cleaning other parts of the restaurant.

He opened the cash register and took about $200 in cash, according to a news release issued by the Petaluma Police Department. Then he fled the scene.

The suspect's image was captured on security video. Police asked anyone with information about the case to call Officer Aaron Lindh at 778-4372.
