Clearlake police seek help in identifying dead man

Clearlake police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the body of a man found lying in the street Thursday.

Police said a white male was discovered in the early morning in the 3000 block of Green Street. He was unresponsive when authorities arrived and was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was described as 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 180 pounds, with short brown hair and a nipple ring. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, burgundy Nike tennis shoes with red laces, and a red and yellow bracelet on his right wrist that police said read in part, "keepitchronic."

The man's death has not been ruled suspicious at this point, according to police, who said an investigation was still underway.

Police said the man had no identification. They are asking anyone with information to call the Clearlake Police Department at 994-8251.
