Sonoma State University alumnus and Master Sommelier Ian Cauble is returning to campus Friday for a screening of "Somm," a film documenting his journey to becoming the 197th master sommelier in history.
The event, which is open to the public, is at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
"Somm" takes place in six countries over the span of two years and documents four people who are striving to achieve the highest distinction in fine wine and beverage service.
Cauble recently co-founded SommSelect, a direct-to-consumer website where wine enthusiasts receive special offers selected by Cauble and a fellow SSU alumnus.
Tickets for the screening are $25 per person and include a wine and hors d'ouevres pairing selected by Cauble and SSU executive chef Eric Lee.
Cauble will answer questions from the audience after the film.
