Guns, $3,000 in cash, nearly 2,000 pot plants found in Lake County bust

Lake County Sheriff's narcotics detectives made one arrest, seized more than $3,000 in cash, a loaded .22 caliber revolver, a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and destroyed nearly 2,000 marijuana plants in a raid Wednesday on a house in Clearlake Oaks.

Jane Cook, 53, was arrested on suspicion of cultivation and possession of marijuana for sale and being armed while in the commission of a felony.

Cook was booked into Lake County Jail.

The arrest stemmed from a search warrant obtained by detectives Tuesday, according to a statement released Friday by the Sheriff's Office. A search was conducted about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, when detectives discovered three hoop-style green houses as well as an indoor garden. A total of 1,882 marijuana plants were found and eradicated, according to the statement.

No one was home at the time of the raid, the Sheriff's Office reported, but Cook was located and detained later in the day.
