Weaving Santa Rosa driver suspected of DUI

A Santa Rosa driver suspected of being about three times over the legal limit for alcohol was arrested Wednesday evening after an off-duty San Francisco police officer reported a truck weaving through traffic, the CHP said.

The CHP got a call from the off-duty officer shortly after 6 p.m., Officer Jon Sloat said in a news release. The officer reported that a Ford Ranger pickup truck was headed northbound on Highway 101 at Todd Road.

CHP officers saw the truck weaving across all the lanes of the highway, causing traffic to back up behind it.

They stopped the driver, Hector Moreno, 28, near Yolanda Avenue. Officers found that Moreno was about three times over the legal limit of 0.08, Sloat said. They also found that he was driving on a suspended license after a 2008 DUI conviction, Sloat said.

Officers arrested Moreno and booked him into jail on charges of DUI and driving while suspended.
