Motorcyclist dies of heart attack in Healdsburg crash

A man from Fresno County died Saturday afternoon of a suspected heart attack while riding his motorcycle in Healdsburg with his wife.

Jeremy Martins, 60, of Reedley was northbound on Healdsburg Avenue when his 2008 Harley Davidson crashed at the corner Alexander Valley Road. His wife, Leanne Martins, 59, was a passenger on the motorcycle.

"We can safely say it was caused by a medical emergency," CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins said.

Hawkins said the incident is still being investigated and it's unclear whether Martins had the heart attack before or after the crash.

Hawkins said the Reedley couple were on a motorcycle trip with friends. Neither alcohol nor speeding were contributing factors in the crash, he said.
