2 Lake County men held on pot charges, 3,277 plants destroyed

Lake County sheriff's deputies arrested two Lower Lake men Friday on suspicion of growing marijuana for sale and destroyed more than 3,200 marijuana plants.

Nestor Alejandro Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 30, and Miguel Angel Vargas, 25, were booked into the Lake County jail after being arrested near the 12000 block of Riata Road in Lower Lake.

Sheriff's deputies raided two properties next door to each other where they found 3,277 marijuana plants, several pounds of processed pot, a digital scale, growing supplies and two weapons, including a Browning 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff's department, Rodriguez-Gonzalez and Vargas were seen driving up to the property while detectives were serving a search warrant.
