A Memorial Day holiday weekend checkpoint netted two drunken drivers in Rohnert Park, police said Saturday.
Another half-dozen drivers were arrested for driving without a license, or driving on a suspended license.
The police checkpoint was set up to screen drivers on the Rohnert Park Expressway, near State Farm Drive, beginning at 7 pm. Friday and ending at 1:30 am. Saturday.
A total of 1,291 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
With the exception of the suspected drunken drivers, all of the unlicensed drivers were allowed to get a licensed driver to drive their vehicle away to avoid being towed.
Police said one driver in a van ran away and they later found several loaded hypodermic needles with heroin in the abandoned vehicle.
