CHP officers arrested a Forestville man early Tuesday, suspecting he was drunk when he crashed into a tree off Highway 116.

Firefighters called to the 6:10 a.m. crash found the injured driver on Martinelli Road, walking away from the scene, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat.

The driver had crashed a 1997 Chevrolet Camero into a tree and the car was on its side.

The driver, Ryan Cook, 22, had minor injuries and appeared to be intoxicated, Sloat said.

After he was given medical aid CHP officers arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving and took him to the Sonoma County Jail.
