Hobbs to consult with winery in Uruguay

Winemaker and consultant Paul Hobbs announced that he will serve as consulting winemaker for Juanic?Wines in Canelones, Uruguay.

Hobbs will work with the Deicas family, who founded the winery in 1979, to improve the portfolio of wines, including the Don Pascual and Pueblo del Sol brands.

"I've long respected the Deicas family for their efforts in elevating Tannat," Hobbs said in a statement. "Together we plan to promote wines of Uruguay while bringing greater exposure to the Deicas family on an international scale."

The relationship marks Hobbs' first consulting project in Uruguay. Hobbs currently consults for wineries in California, Argentina, Chile, France, Canada and Armenia.
