Sonoma County man arrested in molestation case

A Sonoma County man was arrested on suspicion of fondling a girl and taking cellphone pictures of her while her parents were out of the room, Santa Rosa police said Wednesday.

Jeramie Prier, 35, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on $1 million bail on suspicion of two counts of forcible child molestation and two counts of possession of child pornography.

Police said Prier was living at a temporary residence in the county when the molestation allegations surfaced. Police described Prier as a friend of the girl's family. Her exact age was not released, but police said she was younger than 12.

Prier denied molesting the girl in an interview with detectives. Authorities obtained a search warrant for his temporary residence and confiscated several cellphones and other items of possible evidence.

Prier was arrested July 12 in the area of Stony Point Road and Highway 116.
