Redwood Empire Fair honorees to be feted Aug. 1

The Redwood Empire Fair will honor individuals and businesses at its Directors' Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1 in Grange Park at the fairgrounds in Ukiah.

Among those honored will be Hopland grape grower Bob Dempel, who has received a Western Fairs Association Blue Ribbon Award for providing outstanding support to the fair industry.

This year's honorees also include Ross Liberty of Factory Pipe LLC and Mendocino Industrial Park LLC; Jan Sutherland of Taco Bell Ukiah; Ana and Gilbert Cox of Shamrock Artisan Goat Cheese; and Ruth Valenzuela, principal field representative for California State Assemblyman Wesley Chesbro.

Tickets for the event are $25 and include a full barbecue dinner, wine tasting, complimentary wine glass and entry ticket to the fair following the dinner. For information and tickets, please contact the fair office at 462-3884 by Monday.
