New winemaker at Winesecrets

American Winesecrets, a Sebastopol-based wine filtration company, has hired Luke Bohanan as a production winemaker at its winery.

Bohanan is a recent graduate of UC Davis, where he earned a master's degree in enology. A former Army officer, Bohanan provides Winesecrets with leadership skills from tours of duty in Iraq and specific expertise in wine filtration and sensory science gained during his master's degree research.

"The company allows me to combine my passion for wine and fellow veterans along with my uniquely diverse background in science and military leadership," Bohanan said in a news release.

"Bohanan's focus on the technical aspects of wine finishing and leadership experience make him an ideal fit for our on-site operations," said Eric Dahlberg, president of American Winesecrets.
