Two salmon fishermen heading out early Tuesday from Bodega Bay ran aground and were rescued from the listing vessel by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The call for help came at about 3:30 a.m., said Bob Paulino, boatswains mate first class.
The 32-foot commercial boat out of Half Moon Bay had been leaving the harbor during the outgoing tide. It was foggy and the crew may have been unfamiliar with the area, said Paulino.
The boat hit ground near the Westside Regional Park marina.
A Coast Guard crew came from the nearby station and got the two men from the boat.
They planned to return when the water rose.
The names of the fishermen weren't available early Tuesday.
