An unoccupied house in northeast Santa Rosa was ravaged by fire Saturday morning, the Santa Rosa Fire Department said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of Badger Road, Battalion Chief Mark Basque said.
About one-third of the house was ablaze when firefighters arrived, and a downed power line in the driveway impeded the initial attack, Basque said.
The fire was controlled in 45 minutes, leaving the walls of the house still standing. But about half of the roof collapsed and Basque said the single-story house was a total loss, estimated at $350,000.
A detached two-car garage that had been converted to a granny unit was destroyed.
Fire investigators remained on the scene attempting to determine the cause of the blaze, he said.
