Quarterbacks: A Colin Kaepernick, uncharacteristically, got off to a terrible start. But it was his poise and athleticism that nearly made this a great 49ers comeback.
Running Backs: C Frank Gore had an excellent second half running the ball. But LaMichael James fumbled, and the backs didn't have a single reception.
Receivers: A Michael Crabtree and TE Vernon Davis both went over 100 yards, and TE Delanie Walker had some big catches, too.
Offensive Line: B Kaepernick was hit more than usual this game, but the line opened some sizable running lanes for Gore.
Defensive Line: B It was a pretty good game for 49ers' D-line, if not a dominant one.
Linebackers: B Patrick Willis led all players with 10 tackles. NaVorro Bowman had two tackles for loss. Again, they didn't terrorize the Ravens the way they have some teams.
Defensive Backs: D Tarell Brown's strip and recovery was a big play, but CB Chris Culliver and S Donte Whitner were picked on frequently.
Special Teams: B These guys snuffed a fake field goal, had a big punt return and nailed three field goals — but also gave up a 108-yard kickoff return that swung the game.
Coaching/Overall: C You can't knock this team's heart. You could however, question its preparedness, as well as Greg Roman's play calling at the end of the game.
