Calix revenues drop in 2012

Petaluma broadband equipment developer Calix on Tuesday reported annual revenues fell to $330.2 million last year, down from $344.7 million in 2011.

The company posted $91.4 million in sales during the quarter ending Dec. 31, virtually unchanged from a year ago but up 12.5 percent from the third quarter.

"Strong fourth-quarter results ended 2012 on a positive note," Calix CEO Carl Russo said in a statement. "We are carrying this momentum into 2013, with a strengthened organization, an expanded Unified Access portfolio of software, systems and services, and our preferred global reseller agreement with Ericsson providing a solid foundation for growth."

Calix trimmed its annual loss to $28.3 million last year, down from an annual loss of $52.6 million in 2011.

In the fourth quarter, the company reported adjusted profits of $2.9 million, or 6 cents per diluted share, down from adjusted profits of $3.7 million, or 8 cents per share, a year ago.
