St. Joseph Health hires new COO for Sonoma County

David Ziolkowski has been hired as chief operating officer of St. Joseph Health Sonoma County, where he will oversee Santa Rosa Memorial and Petaluma Valley hospitals.

Ziolkowski was recruited from Duke University Health System, where he served as senior director of network services and helped to create Duke LifePoint, a joint venture between Duke and LifePoint Hospitals.

He spent several years in the Bay Area, beginning his career in health care administration in 1996 at Catholic Healthcare West. In 2009, he joined Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo as its chief operating officer.

"This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded organization with a rich history of providing quality care while maintaining mutual respect and trust between staff, providers and the community," Ziolkowski said in a statement.

He will begin his new job on March 11.
