A Clearlake woman who died in a crash Monday evening in Lake County was identified as Diane Leah Levy, 51, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Levy's sedan ran down an embankment, dropping about 100 feet into a ravine.
She had been speeding as she traveled south on Highway 29 at about 5:30 p.m., the CHP said.
Just north of Spruce Grove Road south, near Lower Lake, she began to pass another vehicle and lost control of her 2003 Acura. Levy re-entered her lane but continued across it and onto the dirt shoulder.
The car then went through a guard rail and over the edge. She died in the crash.
