Seven people were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Saturday during DUI checkpoints held throughout Sonoma County, Petaluma police said.
They were among 78 vehicles stopped from 5 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday by officers deployed by the Sonoma County DUI task force.
The officers also conducted 64 probation compliance checks, resulting in the arrests of four DUI offenders who were either in possession of alcohol or under the influence of alcohol in violation of their probation.
The officers attempted to serve 23 DUI warrants that resulted in four arrests. In addition, there were seven suspended/unlicensed drivers cited and one vehicle impounded.
Saturday's enforcement efforts brought the total number of DUI arrests to 71 since the start of the task force campaign on Aug. 16.
